SNOQUALMIE RIVER IN FALL

The Snoqualmie River is a very gentle river that slowly meanders its way from the Cascade Mountains, over Snoqualmie Falls to Fall City and then north through the Snoqualmie River Valley to meet up with the Snohomish River, which eventually ends up in Puget Sound.  The Snoqualmie River not only provides fun recreation opportunities, and causes towns like Duvall to have sayings like “Where a river runs through it, and sometimes over it…” or “Seasonal Waterfront Property Available”, but it also provides wonder scenic opportunities such as this.  This was taken in the fall as the trees are starting to show their color.  Since there was no wind this day, the water was very smooth.  The bridge you see in the distance is the Woodinville-Duvall Road Bridge that is main thoroughfare for entering the town of Duvall and joins up with Main St. (SR 203).  This image is 5 image HDR exposure, which means it is a series of five exposures that are composite together to form the one image.  That images that are composited together range from Underexposed to correctly exposed to overexposed.  This is done to give higher dynamic range, which HDR stands for “High Dynamic Range.”  Here the details in the shadows are more visible while not over exposing highlights in the sky.  The resolution for the source image is 6628 x 4419.
